Incoming Twitter owner Elon Musk said Tuesday he would reverse the social media platform’s ban on former President Donald Trump.

The decision to ban Trump, said Musk, a billionaire entrepreneur, was “morally wrong and flat-out stupid.”

He made the comment at the Financial Times Future of the Car conference – after he and Twitter reached a deal about two weeks ago for him to buy the platform for roughly $44 billion.

Trump, who has since launched his own social media platform, Truth Social, says he will not return to Twitter, but rather focus on his own company.

Trump was initially banned by Twitter and Facebook after the Jan. 6 Capitol riot.

The former president at one point had as many as  88.9 million followers.
