{"id":34716,"date":"2022-01-24T13:48:32","date_gmt":"2022-01-24T21:48:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cww7news.com\/?p=34716"},"modified":"2022-01-24T13:48:32","modified_gmt":"2022-01-24T21:48:32","slug":"psaki-goes-off-on-anti-vaccine-mandate-protest-in-dc-claims-it-was-dangerous","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cww7news.com\/psaki-goes-off-on-anti-vaccine-mandate-protest-in-dc-claims-it-was-dangerous\/","title":{"rendered":"Psaki Goes Off On Anti-Vaccine Mandate Protest In DC, Claims It Was \u2018Dangerous\u2019"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Monday that anti-vaccine mandate protests in Washington, D.C., were \u201cdangerous\u201d and stood \u201cin the way against a coordinated effort to save more American lives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Over 30,000 people took to the streets of the nation\u2019s capital Sunday for the \u201cDefeat the Mandates: An American Homecoming\u201d&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/01\/23\/covid-19-protest-vaccine-mandate-washington-march\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">march to protest<\/a>&nbsp;\u201cdraconian COVID-19 requirements.\u201d Protesters called for an end to&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/01\/18\/world-health-organization-booster-vaccines-kids-covid-19-coronavirus\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">vaccine<\/a>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/01\/21\/federal-judge-blocks-bidens-vaccine-mandate-for-federal-employees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">mandates<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A reporter asked Psaki on Monday how the administration planned to respond to the protests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<div class=\"youtube-embed\" data-video_id=\"VIS4ZcXmyiI\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"LIVE: White House Holds Press Briefing | NBC News\" width=\"696\" height=\"392\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VIS4ZcXmyiI?start=2385&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cJust yesterday in D.C., not far from here actually, there was an anti-mask, anti-lockdown rally where some of the rhetoric around that was talking about Nuremberg style trials to holding Anthony Fauci to account, to going after the media for spreading lies, things like that,\u201d the reporter said. \u201cI was wondering how the administration is going to respond to what appears to be a growing intensity and potential violence in the anti-vax movement?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWe are well aware that there is a loud and vocal minority empowered through social media and media platforms that proliferate misinformation, politicians who espouse conspiracy theories and fundraise off opposition to public health, we know that,\u201d Psaki replied. \u201cWe also know that 87% of American adults have at least one shot, that\u2019s the vast, vast majority and over 210 million Americans are fully vaccinated. So our view is that it\u2019s wrong, it\u2019s dangerous and it stands in the way against a coordinated effort to save more American lives.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Psaki was then asked whether the administration feels like it is \u201closing the war when it comes to the messaging on the importance of these types of public health measures, like getting vaccinated.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAgain, our view is that it is a loud and vocal minority but still dangerous, still problematic. The fact that 87% of American adults, all of those people of course did not mathematically vote for Joe Biden, had at least one shot, means we\u2019ve far surpassed where I think most people think we should be. It\u2019s difficult and challenging of course to get more people vaccinated, we know that.
