Josh Hawley raised concern Wednesday about Supreme Court nominee Ketanji Brown Jackson\u2019s previous rulings on child pornography cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hawley alleged&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/03\/07\/president-bidens-supreme-court-nominee-judge-jackson-and-the-firearm-industry\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jackson<\/a>&nbsp;has questioned requiring convicts to register as sex offenders, saying public policy is a led by a \u201cclimate of fear, hatred and revenge\u201d via Twitter Wednesday. The senator, a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, vowed to reporters Thursday that he intends to press Jackson on her record.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been researching the record of Ketanjii Brown Jackson, reading her opinions, articles, interviews &amp; speeches,\u201d Hawley said. \u201cI\u2019ve noticed an alarming pattern when it comes to Judge Jackson\u2019s treatment of sex offenders, especially those praying on children. The\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/criminal-ceos\/citizens-guide-us-federal-law-child-pornography#:~:text=Any%20violation%20of%20federal%20child,30%20years%20maximum%20in%20prison.\" target=\"_blank\">guide<\/a>\u00a0made available by the Department of Justice says a first time offender faces a statutory minimum of 15-30 years in prison.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The senator&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HawleyMO\/status\/1504221934434799624\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">alleged<\/a>&nbsp;that Jackson has \u201cquestioned\u201d sending sex offenders to civil commitment, a post-sentence institutionalization of a convicted individual viewed to be an endangerment. He also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HawleyMO\/status\/1504221935491768329\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>&nbsp;the nominee attempted to remove mandatory minimum sentencing for child porn while serving on the U.S. Sentencing Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the case United States v. Hawkins, Jackson sentenced a convicted adult possessing child porn to 3 months in prison, though the Sentencing Guidelines recommend for up to 10 years imprisonment, the senator\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/HawleyMO\/status\/1504221949941137415\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a>. He also alleged that Jackson sentenced a felon possessing thousands of child pornography photos up to 57 months in jail in the case United States v. Stewart, despite the guidelines calling for 97-121 months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">In the case of United States v. Hawkins, the sex offender had multiple images of child porn. He was over 18. The Sentencing Guidelines called for a sentence of up to 10 years. She claimed Hawley \u201ctook a snippet of a transcript out of context\u201d when Jackson was repeating a witness\u2019 remarks in order to ask a question about their testimony.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates called the accusations \u201ctoxic and weakly-presented misinformation,\u201d according to the Hill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is toxic and weakly-presented misinformation that relies on taking cherry-picked elements of her record out of context \u2014 and it buckles under the lightest scrutiny,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Other Republican senators on the committee, including Texas&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/dailycaller.com\/2022\/01\/20\/senate-judiciary-committee-big-tech-chuck-grassley-amy-klobuchar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sen.
