Biden\u2019s sister, Valerie Biden Owens, wants Meghan Markle to pursue her rumored political ambitions all the way to the White House, suggesting that the former \u201cSuits\u201d star would make a good presidential candidate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In an interview with \u201cGood Morning Britain\u201d Tuesday<\/a>, Biden Owens, 76, extended an invitation to Markle to join the Democratic Party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIt\u2019s wonderful to have women in politics,\u201d the 46th US president\u2019s younger sister opined, according to Newsweek. \u201cThe more women we have, the better our democratic system will work, with a better point of view, a different point of view and we embrace all women.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWe welcome [Meghan] to come in and join the Democratic Party,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n When asked if the Duchess of Sussex would \u201cmake a good presidential candidate one day,\u201d Biden Owens replied: \u201cYes, perhaps. Of course she will.\u201d Markle, 40, and her husband, Prince Harry, 37<\/a>, have been living in the US full-time with their children, Archie and Lilibet,\u00a0since the couple stepped back<\/a>\u00a0from their roles as senior members of the British royal family in 2020. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Unconfirmed reports that Markle has been forging connections with top Democrats with an eye on a possible career in politics have long circulated, although there is no solid evidence that she is interested in running for an elected office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In March 2021, investigative journalist Tom Bower, who is writing a forthcoming unauthorized biography of Markle, said he believes it is \u201clikely\u201d the former actress will try her hand at politics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe prospect of Meghan running for president is possible and I\u2019d even say likely,\u201d Bower told Closer magazine, as DailyMail.com reported at the time.<\/a> \u201cI really believe it\u2019s where she sees herself going.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
