{"id":35895,"date":"2022-07-31T14:48:24","date_gmt":"2022-07-31T21:48:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cww7news.com\/?p=35895"},"modified":"2022-07-31T14:48:25","modified_gmt":"2022-07-31T21:48:25","slug":"biden-tests-positive-for-covid-again","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cww7news.com\/biden-tests-positive-for-covid-again\/","title":{"rendered":"Biden tests positive for Covid Again"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-drop-cap\">&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/joe-biden\/\">Joe Biden<\/a>&nbsp;on Saturday tested positive for Covid-19 once again after consecutive days of testing negative for the virus, his physician said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biden, 79, is experiencing no new symptoms and \u201ccontinues to feel quite well,\u201d Dr. Kevin O\u2019Connor said in a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Update-7.30.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">memo<\/a>&nbsp;shared by the White House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But he will nevertheless \u201creinitiate strict isolation procedures,\u201d the presidential physician wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biden, who is fully vaccinated and has received two booster shots of the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, tweeted Saturday afternoon that he was asymptomatic but would isolate \u201cfor the safety of everyone around me.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m still at work, and will be back on the road soon,\u201d the president\u2019s tweet said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Folks, today I tested positive for COVID again. <br> <br>This happens with a small minority of folks. <br> <br>I\u2019ve got no symptoms but I am going to isolate for the safety of everyone around me. <br> <br>I\u2019m still at work, and will be back on the road soon.<\/p>&mdash; President Biden (@POTUS) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/POTUS\/status\/1553451657748512768?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">July 30, 2022<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>O\u2019Connor had&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/07\/27\/president-biden-tests-negative-for-covid-and-will-end-strict-quarantine.html\">previously warned<\/a>&nbsp;of the potential for a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/07\/27\/as-more-people-report-covid-rebounds-after-paxlovid-experts-insist-cases-are-rare.html\">\u201crebound\u201d in positive test results<\/a>, a phenomenon among a small percentage of patients who, like Biden, used the antiviral medication Paxlovid as part of their treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biden had accordingly \u201cincreased his testing cadence, both to protect people around him and to assure early detection of any return of viral replication,\u201d O\u2019Connor wrote in the latest memo, which was made public Saturday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The president tested negative for Covid on Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, but tested positive on Saturday morning from an antigen test. \u201cThis in fact represents \u2018rebound\u2019 positivity,\u201d the doctor wrote.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Biden\u2019s age puts him at higher risk of getting severely ill from Covid. People over age 65 account for more than 81% of deaths from the virus, which has killed more than&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbc.com\/nbc-nightly-news\/video\/1-million-people-in-the-us-have-now-died-from-covid\/306053551\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">1 million people in the U.S.<\/a>&nbsp;alone, according to the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cdc.gov\/coronavirus\/2019-ncov\/need-extra-precautions\/people-with-medical-conditions.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Centers for Disease Control and Prevention<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The president&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/07\/21\/president-biden-tests-positive-for-covid-19.html\">first tested positive for Covid on July 21<\/a>. He felt \u201cmild symptoms\u201d including a dry cough, runny nose and fatigue, O\u2019Connor said at the time. Biden began working in isolation but&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnbc.com\/2022\/07\/27\/president-biden-tests-negative-for-covid-and-will-end-strict-quarantine.html\">returned to the Oval Office five days later<\/a>&nbsp;after testing negative for Covid twice over a 24-hour period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe President has experienced no reemergence of symptoms, and continues to feel quite well,\u201d O\u2019Connor wrote in Saturday\u2019s memo after Biden\u2019s rebound test. \u201cThis being the case, there is no reason to reinitiate treatment at this time, but we will obviously continue close observation.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp;Joe Biden&nbsp;on Saturday tested positive for Covid-19 once again after consecutive days of testing negative for the virus, his physician said.
