Must be stopped,\u201d one person\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/deathnoteb\/status\/1553449107502510080\" target=\"_blank\">replied<\/a>, while another\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Patrick37060119\/status\/1553529964418347009\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a>, \u201cWhen they start locking up the Ramen it\u2019s over for all of us.\u201d <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis country is becoming so sad, we need better leadership, enough is enough!\u201d someone else&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MikeS18900419\/status\/1553717800191102977\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">wrote<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The city\u2019s stores have been locking up items such as toothpaste and soap to prevent them from being stolen, then sold on the streets or online, the&nbsp;<em>Post<\/em>&nbsp;report said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One shopper speculated the Spam was not being stolen to later sell for drugs, but because homeless people wanted a quick bite to eat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Employees claimed thefts at the shop increased in the past couple of years, and one estimated approximately four shoplifting incidents happened each evening.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think they stop anything,\u201d a store clerk noted when speaking about the anti-theft boxes. \u201cIt\u2019s security theater. If you really needed it, you would stomp on it.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Also inside the store was a $3.49 can of Celebrity ham that was&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-11065951\/NYC-drug-store-3-99-tins-SPAM-theft-proof-cases-crime-wave-continues-grip-Big-Apple.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">protected<\/a>&nbsp;in the same way, according to the&nbsp;<em>Daily Mail.&nbsp;<\/em>The outlet said it was not a city-wide policy or one implemented by all Duane Reade stores in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, more than four in ten Americans were having to cut back on many things, including the amount of groceries they&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2022\/07\/30\/poll-4-in-10-americans-forced-cut-back-groceries-due-bidenflation\/\">buy<\/a>, thanks to Bidenflation, per a recent Suffolk University\/<em>USA Today<\/em>&nbsp;survey.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The plague of inflation and criminal activity in New York City has caused one store to lock up its Spam.
