The filing was made upon a court order to provide a status update on the case on or before September 6, 2023. It is not known at this time what charges Hunter Biden might face.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">CNN: &quot;There&#39;s the question about whether &#8230; there are other potential crimes that are now back on the table&quot; for Hunter Biden.<br><br>&quot;Hunter Biden now has a host of problems that he didn&#39;t think he had a couple of weeks ago.&quot; <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/y5jlzdnSYy\">pic.twitter.com\/y5jlzdnSYy<\/a><\/p>&mdash; RNC Research (@RNCResearch) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/RNCResearch\/status\/1699514025527410799?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">September 6, 2023<\/a><\/blockquote><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>In August, Hunter Biden\u2019s plea deal broke down upon scrutiny from the judge, throwing a wrench into the&nbsp;agreement&nbsp;Weiss and Hunter Biden had crafted.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The agreement&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/hunter-biden-gun-charge-plea-deal-prosecutors-de3702ea46e9f544e69d6fd2e694dce8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">afforded<\/a>&nbsp;Hunter Biden the ability to plead guilty for not paying taxes on over $1.5 million in income in 2017 and 2018, receiving probation rather than jail time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, Weiss devised a separate diversion agreement that\u00a0gave\u00a0Hunter Biden immunity from potential future charges, including a provision to essentially\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pbs.org\/newshour\/politics\/hunter-biden-arrives-at-a-delaware-court-where-hes-expected-to-plead-guilty-to-tax-crimes\" target=\"_blank\">wipe<\/a>\u00a0a\u00a0felony gun violation from his record. Lawyers for Hunter Biden tried to\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/politics\/2023\/08\/14\/hunter-bidens-lawyers-claim-part-sweetheart-deal-still-intact\/\" target=\"_blank\">argue<\/a>\u00a0that\u00a0terms of the \u201cdiversion agreement\u201d within\u00a0the\u00a0plea deal remained intact.
