Body to Govern Artificial Intelligence"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The world needs international digital ID systems like coronavirus passports and Artificial Intelligence should be regulated by a global body similar to the United Nations\u2019 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking before the \u201cOne Future\u201d session of the G20 Summit in India, the top Eurocrat declared that the \u201cfuture will be digital\u201d and therefore more globalist institutions will be needed to set boundaries and regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The German politician, who before ascending to her unelected role as EU Commission President served as Berlin\u2019s Defence Minister,\u00a0<a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ec.europa.eu\/commission\/presscorner\/detail\/en\/statement_23_4424\" target=\"_blank\">said<\/a>: \u201cToday I want to focus on AI and digital infrastructure. As it has been described, AI has risks but also offers tremendous opportunities. The crucial question is how to harness a rapidly changing technology.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\"><p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The future is digital. I passed two messages to the G20:<br> <br>\u2192 We should establish a framework for safe, responsible AI, with a similar body as the IPCC for climate<br><br>\u2192 Digital public infrastructures are an accelerator of growth. We want to facilitate innovation while building trust. But we need more. What the world does now will shape our future. I believe that Europe \u2014 and its partners \u2014 should develop a new global framework for AI risks,\u201d von der Leyen continued.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She said that Europe and its allies should develop a \u201cglobal framework for AI risks\u201d but that there will also need to be standards set at the global level through the United Nations. \u201cWe would need a similar body to the IPCC for climate, and here we need additional outreach to the scientists entrepreneurs and innovators. They need to provide the knowledge on the risks posed by AI \u2013 as well as the potential benefits for humanity,\u201d the EU chief said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>During her speech in India, Ursula von der Leyen went on to argue for the global adoption of \u201cdigital public infrastructures\u201d along the lines of the coronavirus passport system the EU developed during the Wuhan virus crisis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cMany of you are familiar with the COVID-19 digital certificate. The EU developed it for itself. The model was so functional and so trusted that 51 countries on 4 continents adopted it for free.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cToday, the WHO uses it as a global standard to facilitate mobility in times of health threats. I want to thank Dr Tedros again for the excellent cooperation,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The European Union is actively trying to introduce a bloc-wide \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2021\/06\/02\/sinister-eu-proposes-post-pandemic-digital-identity\/\">digital identity<\/a>\u201d app that would contain a citizen\u2019s passport, driver\u2019s licence, credit cards and other personal information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Speaking to Breitbart Europe in March, Romanian&nbsp;Member of the European Parliament (MEP),&nbsp;Cristian Terhes warned that the push for a cross-border digital ID system would result in the \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2023\/03\/19\/great-reset-eu-vote-to-implement-digital-id-latest-step-in-the-chinaficaiton-of-europe-mep\/\">Chinafication<\/a>\u201d of Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Like Communist China, the EU is also&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.breitbart.com\/europe\/2023\/02\/21\/eu-bankers-to-discuss-creation-of-centralised-digital-currency-in-secretive-meeting-report\/\">looking to implement<\/a>&nbsp;a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), which could be used to impose the whims of Brussels on the different peoples of the 27-member state bloc.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The world needs international digital ID systems like coronavirus passports and Artificial Intelligence should be regulated by a global body similar to the United Nations\u2019 Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said on Sunday.
