In Gaza and the West Bank, authorities report 850 people have been killed in fighting there.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<strong>It&#8217;s not a war, it&#8217;s not a battlefield, it&#8217;s a massacre<\/strong>,&#8221; IDF Major General Itai Veruv&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.timesofisrael.com\/liveblog-october-10-2023\/\">was quoted<\/a>&nbsp;as saying. &#8220;You see the babies, their mothers and their fathers, in their bedrooms, and in their protected rooms, and how the terrorists killed them \u2014 it&#8217;s not a war.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;<strong>It&#8217;s something that I never saw in my life<\/strong>,&#8221; Veruv said. &#8220;We used to imagine our grandmothers and grandfathers during the pogroms in Europe.
